DESCRIPTION
This is the most basic course in Hebrew language, Modern with Medieval footnotes, and a follow on of intrdoduction to the classical language. We will engage in primitive conversation (shalom, mashalomeka, bbaqsha, todah, lhithraoth). We will cover common the alphabet (cursive to write; square script to read) noun forms, the simple verb forms, and simple sentence structure. We will also pick up as much of the Milon Ivrith vocabulary as we can memorize. By the end of the term, everyone should be able to do the easier biblical readings, some simple modern texts, and ask where the watercloset is. Internet radio and MP3 exercises stand in for Lab time in this course. Classes will consist of intensive exercises on vocabulary and grammar.
